The Dan Parr Interview
Dan Parr (usually known as Dano or DJ Dano) is a singer, songwriter and DJ from Dallas who writes and performs music for both adults and kids.
Dano is an eclectic songwriter with a soulful voice. He blends electronic music with folk/pop and incorporates elements of jazz, soul, rock and dance music into his original compositions. His lyrics are at times funny, silly and quirky and at times thoughtful and personal.
After spending many years as a teacher by day and musician by night, Dano’s students asked him to write some songs just for them. This led to shows at schools, libraries and other events throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
For school and library shows, Dano likes to add an educational element by telling short stories about the songs and why he wrote them.
Some of his most popular songs include Groovy Spacemen, Hello Sunshine, A Colorful World, The Animal Cliche’ Song, The Lost City of Atlantis, Lonesome George of the Galapagos, Jetpack Superhero, Big Daddio, Some of My Favorite Words and Ugly Toes.
